October brings unexpected updates for SAS and EuroBonus members! Following their official entry into SkyTeam, SAS is rolling out a range of new offers, promotions, and partnerships with several opportunities to boost your points balance. From the launch of the EuroBonus Millionaire Challenge—where you could earn up to 1 million points—to new ways to redeem your points, this month is packed with rewards and news for frequent travelers. Here’s a breakdown of all the news so you stay current.

1. EuroBonus Millionarie Challenge: Earn Up To One Million Points

SAS has officially joined SkyTeam, and they’re celebrating with a (almost never seen) challenge that could make you a EuroBonus Millionaire! This quarter, the more you explore the world with SkyTeam partners, the more points you rack up, up to 1 MILLION POINTS. The good news is that award flights count too.

2. EuroBonus + Scandic: New Partnership

Scandic Hotels and SAS have teamed up in a new partnership called “Friends with benefits”, starting in early 2025. This partnership will offer special rewards to members of their loyalty programs, SAS EuroBonus and Scandic Friends. Members will enjoy benefits like matching status between the programs and easier point conversion. With over 11 million members combined, this collaboration will make travel and hotel stays more rewarding and convenient. More perks will be introduced throughout the year, aiming to create a smoother and more personalized experience for travelers.

3. New SkyTeam Airlines Now Bookable

It’s now possible to use EuroBonus points to book award flights with Aeromexico, and Xiamen Airlines.

As every month, SAS is currently offering heavily discounted revenue tickets to several destinations. It can be a great opportunity to secure good prices or build your status.

4. Earn Tier Points with Avis

You can now earn Level Points when you rent with Avis. To celebrate the launch, you can now earn up to 7,000 Bonus Points and 3,500 Level Points for bookings made by 31 October, for rentals until 15 December.

Book a medium car or larger with Avis between 14 October and 31 October 2024 for rentals between 14 October 2024 and 15 December 2024 and you can earn:

• 7,000 Extra Points + 3,500 Level Points 14-28 days
• 5,000 Extra Points + 2,500 Level Points 8-13 days
• 3,000 Extra Points + 1,500 Level Points 3-7 days.

5. New Codeshare Agreements with Delta and Virgin Atlantic

SAS announced new codeshare agreements with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines, as well as significantly expanded its domestic network within Sweden. With these new partnerships and network expansions, and right after the switch to SkyTeam, SAS continues to work full thrust solidifying its position as a leading airline in Scandinavia and beyond.
