Right in the middle of joining SkyTeam’s celebrations, Scandinavian Airlines announced they will be reintroducing direct flights between Copenhagen and Seattle starting in May 2025. This move follows the growing travel demand to the U.S. and customer requests. The new route strengthens ties between Scandinavia and the Pacific Northwest, a region with a strong Scandinavian heritage.
The Copenhagen-Seattle route will offer five weekly flights, complementing SAS’s existing network of 10 North American destinations from CPH. SAS expects the new route to benefit both passenger and cargo traffic, especially given Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s continuous growth.
In the announcement, SAS claims that the flight schedules have been optimized for seamless connections to 39 European cities via Copenhagen, for example, to key destinations like Berlin, Helsinki, Milan, and Zurich. The announcement is part of a larger expansion plan, with more new routes expected to be unveiled soon.
