What Can You Do With Safar Flyer Award Miles?

Beyond status benefits, the miles you earn in Safar Flyer have some genuine redemption valu if you are a regular RAM flyer. Here’s what you can use your Award Miles for:

• Award Tickets: Pay for flights using miles (taxes only out of pocket). Starts at 4,750 miles for domestic Morocco one-ways.
• Upgrade Bonus: Book economy and upgrade to business class with miles. Starts at 3,750 miles.
• Cash & Miles: Split payment between cash and miles on any Royal Air Maroc flight, up to the last available seat.
• Excess Baggage: Pay for up to 9kg extra baggage using miles (4,000 miles per 23kg piece).
• Date Changes: Waive change fees using miles (500 miles = €10 in fees).
• Unaccompanied Minor Service: Use miles to have Royal Air Maroc escort children traveling alone.

The 3x Status Miles Booster Explained

Eligible Airlines: Who Can Apply?

Following the November 25, 2025 update, only airline elite members from the following programs can apply. US carriers (American, Delta, United, etc.) and all hotel programs have been removed from eligibility.

Note: Platinum matches are limited in supply and restricted to specific high-tier status holders (Lufthansa HON Circle, Air Canada Super Elite, Flying Blue Ultimate, Turkish Elite Plus, etc.).

How to Apply

The application is managed by StatusMatch.com and takes just a few minutes:

1. Join Safar Flyer if you’re not already a member (sign up here)
2. Visit the status match portal at royal-air-maroc.statusmatch.com
3. Select your target tier (Silver, Gold, or Platinum)
4. Submit proof of your current airline status (screenshot of membership card or account page)
5. Pay the application fee ($149 / $349 / $749)
6. Wait for approval (typically within 3 business days)

Once approved, your new Safar Flyer status will appear in your account within 3 business days. The 3x Status Booster activates automatically on January 1, 2026.

Status Validity and Requalification

Unlike rolling 12-month status matches, Safar Flyer grants status through a fixed date: December 31, 2026. This means:

• Apply in December 2025 → ~12 months of status
• Apply in June 2026 → ~6 months of status
• The earlier you apply, the more value you get

To retain status beyond December 2026, you’ll need to requalify through Royal Air Maroc’s standard earning requirements.

Is This Status Match Worth the Price?

At $149-$749, this is pricier than budget options like the TAP Miles&Go match (€49). But the value proposition is different:

Worth it if:

• You want oneworld Sapphire or Emerald benefits specifically
