Last Wednesday (August 7th), Emirates started operating its first Boeing 777 with a complete cabin refresh, now sporting a stunning new design. This revamped aircraft took 37 days to overhaul and made its debut flight to Geneva as flight EK 83, four days ahead of the previously announced schedule.
The good news is that this is just the first of 191 Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s that the airline will refresh in a major investment move. They will be rolled out in service gradually, with flights to Tokyo and Brussels starting very soon.

Massive Investment by Emirates
This Boeing 777 is just the first of 81 aircraft to undergo this major refurbishment, part of Emirates’ $3 billion investment to ramp up the customer experience across its fleet.
The refurbishment involved 175 Emirates engineers and technicians. The airline also claims that the project significantly impacted the local aviation industry, with more than ten major partners contributing and supporting the refurbishment.
To refresh each plane, it requires 330 square meters of carpets, 340 laminate sheets, 750 square meters of leather, 800 meters of fabric, and 300 liters of paint. Insane!
Emirates wants to revamp 191 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft by the end of this project. Once complete, the airline will have 8,104 next-generation Premium Economy seats, 1,894 refreshed First-Class suites, 11,182 upgraded Business Class seats, and 21,814 Economy Class seats.
