SAS is on fire this month, and just announced a massive route expansion from Copenhagen in its summer 2025 schedule. The move aims to establish Copenhagen as the airline’s global customer point, with 15 new routes taking flight, including a long-haul route to Seattle, a domestic route to Billund, and 13 exciting European destinations.

15 New Routes From CPH

There’s no doubt that Copenhagen airport is at the heart of SAS’s ambitious growth strategy, after their successful emergence from Chapter 11. The upcoming summer traffic program, launching on March 30, 2025, will see a significant boost with the addition of these 15 new routes.

The 13 European routes include popular destinations such as Budapest, Bucharest, Krakow, Lyon, Madrid, Milan-Linate, Malta, Seville, and Valencia. Additionally, SAS will strengthen its presence in the Nordic region with new routes to Kristiansand, Harstad/Narvik, Bodø, and Turku. The domestic route to Billund also makes a welcome return after five years.

Copenhangen As A Global Hub

The airline’s ambition is clear: Copenhagen is set to become a key transit point for long-haul flights, connecting Europe with North America and Asia. This strategic move aligns with SAS’s focus on increasing its global reach and further solidifying its position as a major player in the international travel market.

While Copenhagen is taking the spotlight, SAS assures travelers that it will maintain robust connections from Oslo and Stockholm. Oslo (OSL) will continue to offer up to 125 daily departures to over 60 destinations, and Stockholm (ARN) will remain an important gateway for European and intercontinental travel.
