Bridging Two Dynamic Regions
The launch aligns with increasing interest among Scandinavian travelers to explore South Korea, a country celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and global influences such as K-pop, Korean dramas, and cuisine. Meanwhile, travelers from Korea will gain easier access to the wonders of Scandinavia and connections to over 100 destinations across Europe via Copenhagen, a key hub in SAS’ network. It will be interesting to see how the partnership with Korean Air develops and both networks get combined.
For visitors, Seoul offers a unique mix of ancient and modern attractions. From futuristic skyscrapers to historic palaces, vibrant shopping districts, and world-renowned culinary experiences, there’s something for everyone. Beyond tourism, the city is a critical player in green technology, digital innovation, and business, strengthening ties with Scandinavia’s forward-thinking industries.
A Strategic Step for SAS
With this new route, SAS will offer 14 intercontinental destinations from Copenhagen by the time the service launches, further solidifying the city’s role as a premier global hub. Combined with the addition of a new route to Seattle in May 2025, the expansion affirms SAS’ commitment to connecting Scandinavia to the world.
The Copenhagen-Seoul route is still subject to governmental approval, but if all goes as planned, it’s set to open a new chapter in intercontinental travel for Scandinavian Airlines. For travelers eager to explore, this connection promises a convenient, comfortable bridge between two dynamic regions.
