Recent Updates & Key Changes for 2025

  • October 2025 - SAS Gold & Main Lounges to Merge: In a major announcement, SAS will merge its SAS Gold and SAS Lounges at Copenhagen (CPH), Oslo (OSL), and Stockholm (ARN) into a single, larger shared lounge starting October 1, 2025. The new combined lounges will feature the premium food and beverage offerings currently found in the Gold lounges.

Key Takeaway

What the CPH/OSL/ARN Lounge Merger Means for You:

From October 1, 2025, there will no longer be a separate, exclusive “Gold” lounge at SAS’s main hubs. All eligible travelers (including SAS Plus, EuroBonus Gold/Diamond, and SkyTeam Elite Plus) will use a single, unified premium lounge. The key benefit is that everyone will now get access to the upgraded food and beverage selection previously reserved for the Gold lounge.

  • September 2025 - Massive Lounge Expansion: SAS announced partnerships to add over 35 new third-party lounges across Europe, with the rollout beginning October 1, 2025. See the full list below.
  • April 2025 - Singapore Airlines Lounges: EuroBonus Gold/Diamond and Business Class travelers can now access select Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounges.
  • January 2025 - SkyTeam Policy Updates: SkyTeam introduced lounge access on select domestic flights for Elite Plus members. Guesting rules now require the guest to be on the same flight, and a 3-hour access limit applies at the point of departure.

Who Can Access SAS & Partner Lounges?

Lounge access can be confusing. Here’s a clear breakdown of the rules. To enter any lounge, you must have a same-day boarding pass for a SAS or SkyTeam operated flight departing from that airport.

TravelerAccess at SAS LoungesAccess at SkyTeam / Partner LoungesGuestingTime Limits
SAS BusinessYesYesNo free guestCommonly 3h pre-departure at SkyTeam lounges
SAS PlusYesYes (where SAS has arranged partners)No free guestAs posted by lounge
EuroBonus DiamondYes (incl. unified lounges CPH/OSL/ARN from Oct 1, 2025)Yes1 guest; up to 4 immediate family at SAS loungesSkyTeam lounges often 3h pre-departure; transfers may allow longer
EuroBonus GoldYesYes1 guestAs above
SkyTeam Elite PlusYes (when flying SAS; generally on international itineraries)Yes (generally on international itineraries)1 guest on the same flight3h pre-departure increasingly enforced

Notes: SkyTeam introduced clearer 3-hour pre-departure limits and “guest must be on the same flight” enforcement in 2025. Domestic access for Elite Plus depends on the operating carrier & local rules; implementation varies by airline/airport.

Note: EuroBonus Silver members may have access to SAS Lounges during specific summer periods. This is announced annually.

SAS Lounge Access Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is the difference between the SAS Lounge and SAS Gold Lounge?

Historically, the SAS Gold Lounge was an exclusive area for EuroBonus Gold, Diamond, and Star Alliance Gold members, offering better food, drinks, and amenities. However, starting October 1, 2025, SAS is merging the Gold and main lounges at CPH, OSL, and ARN into a single, larger lounge with a unified, premium offering for all eligible guests.

Does SAS have a lounge in Dublin (DUB), Malaga (AGP), or Nice (NCE)?
  • Dublin (DUB): SAS does not currently have a partner lounge in Dublin.

  • Malaga (AGP): SAS does not currently list a partner lounge, but the press release from September 2025 stated that Malaga is a destination where they are working to secure lounge access. This guide will be updated when confirmed.

  • Nice (NCE): Yes, from October 1, 2025, SAS passengers can use the Infinity Lounge in Terminal 2.

Can I buy a day pass to a SAS Lounge?

Yes, if you are traveling on a SAS Go ticket, you can purchase access to SAS Lounges either in advance or at the reception, subject to availability. Purchased access grants you entry for up to 3 hours before your flight’s departure.

Can I use the lounge upon arrival?

Arrivals access is a benefit primarily for EuroBonus Diamond members on any SAS flight, and for EuroBonus Gold/SAS Business passengers arriving on a long-haul flight from Asia or North America.

What is the guest policy for SAS Lounges?

EuroBonus Diamond and Gold members can bring one guest. Diamond members have the enhanced perk of bringing up to four immediate family members. SkyTeam Elite Plus members can also bring one guest, but the guest must be traveling on the same flight.

Are children and pets allowed in SAS Lounges?

Children under 18 are welcome with an eligible adult. Those under 2 enter for free. Small cats and dogs are permitted if they remain in their carrier at all times.

Our Experience Visiting The SAS Lounges

SAS Business Lounge Copenhagen

The Business Lounge is still quite solid when it comes to food and seating areas. However, it feels much more packed and crowded that the Gold Lounge. There are three large buffet bars with salads, hot meals, bread and drinks. I grabbed a bite and worked the rest of the time. Inside the lounge it was warm and not particularly quiet. The lounge was still full of SkyTeam celebrations, including banners, napkins, and even small cakes/muffins.
