SAS is bringing back its “Destination Unknown” trip, offering EuroBonus members another chance for a surprise getaway. This second round of mystery flights departs Friday, April 4th. Registration opens February 17th at 12:00 CET and closes February 18th at 12:00 CET, requiring registration via the SAS app within this 24-hour window.

Last year, the surprise trip cost was 30k EuroBonus points and the destination was Athens. This time and based on the amount charged, it’s reasonable to think that the trip is a SAS destination in the US or Asia.

How to Register

  1. Download and log in to the SAS app.
  2. Sign up during the registration window.
  3. Cross your fingers and wait!

Remember, this trip is not first-come, first-served. SAS will randomly select participants from the pool of applicants. If you’re confirmed, you’ll receive an email notification. From there, you’ll have 24 hours to accept or decline your spot through the SAS app.

FAQs

1. I don’t have enough points. Can I still sign up?

Yes! You can register even if you don’t have the full 60,000 points. If you’re confirmed, you’ll have 24 hours to purchase the missing points. If your account does not have enough points after this period, your spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist.

2. Will I earn points for this trip?

Unfortunately, no. Points are not awarded for award travel.

3. What’s included in the ticket price?

Your ticket includes a return flight, an onboard meal (optional), and some additional benefits. Accommodation is not included in the price; however, SAS will provide hotel partner options, which can be paid for upon arrival.

4. How is the selection process handled?

Since places are limited, SAS uses a random selection process to give all registrants a fair chance. If you’ve signed up with a travel companion, SAS ensures that both of you (or neither) are confirmed.

5. What happens if I’m on the waitlist?

If you’re waitlisted, you’ll need to keep an eye on your status in the SAS app. Seats may become available if others decline their spot, and if you’re confirmed, you’ll receive an email notification.

Quick Tips for Success

  • Ensure your points balance: Make sure you’re ready to purchase any extra points you might need within 24 hours of confirmation.
  • Stay updated: Regularly check the SAS app and your email for notifications regarding your registration status.
