Alaska Airlines has been rolling out a new search UI for Mileage Plan which currently does not support searching Business and First Class redemptions with partner airlines: it only works for Alaska Airlines. There are no known date or official statement from the airline for when this features will be back.

Star Alliance member ANA announced that they will be resuming their route from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to Perth (PER), and gradually opened reservations today. Based on the available data, the airline schedules 3 weekly flights with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The first flight is scheduled for October 29th, 2023.

I recently had a very long journey back to Europe from Taipei. Due to lack of any better award availability, I ended up booking a route taking me from Taipei to Barcelona via Vienna and Frankfurt. While definitely not the quickest route, it at least gave me a chance to try a nice variety of airlines (EVA Air, Austrian, and Lufthansa).
