The LifeMiles award chart can be one of the most lucrative ones for frequent flyers, so much, that it has increasingly gained popularity among Europeans and residents of the United States.
The value of Avianca LifeMiles has remained quite stable over the past few years, and redemptions in premium cabins (Business Class and First) are slightly cheaper compared to other programs.
But can you find seats available? In this post, we cover the best Avianca LifeMiles awards with real availability, including our favorite picks.

Here are our top Avianca LifeMiles redemptions, and how to find them using AwardFares (click to search).
1. New York to Europe in Business Class
You can fly this route on many Star Alliance partners including Lufthansa, Austrian and even Singapore Airlines for around 63,000 miles, a great deal for a premium cabin award, as it’s significantly cheaper than many other programs.
2. Europe to Tokyo on ANA Business Class
This flight is a rare find, with only a few seats released close to the date, but it is on the top of LifeMiles redemptions if you can score one. Try setting an alert using AwardFares to get notified via email when seats open.
Note: Some ANA flights feature the new Business Class cabin with enclosed compartments, which AwardFares highlights. Try filtering by flight number (e.g. NH211 and NH212).
3. Intra-Europe Flights
Flying across Europe during the summer can be quite expensive. But for 10,000-30,0000 miles you can get a ton of value during peak season, especially on premium cabins such as Lufthansa or Brussels Airlines Business Class.
4. Los Angeles to Syndey on United
Economy Class fares can easily be well over USD $2,000, but for just 40,000 miles you can score a seat on this 15h flight and explore Australia.
5. Lufthansa First Class
Without surcharges and for only up to 87,000 miles (one-way), this is one of the best redemptions you’ll ever get from LifeMiles! There are plenty of options to choose from.
6. Miami to Santiago de Chile
At just 50,000 miles for a Business Class seat, these awards are at great value compared to deep-South America cash prices. There are options with Copa Airlines and Avianca on all three classes: Economy, Business and First (domestic).
7. Santiago or Buenos Aires to New York
Similarly, there are plenty of flights from Santiago and Buenos Aires to New York via Panama (PTY) and Bogota (BOG).
8. Los Angeles to Taipei
At 40,000 miles in Economy and 70,000 miles in Business Class, these are great options to explore Asia with EVA Air, Asiana or even ANA. Note that for the same price, you can find options to other destinations such as Tokyo, Bangkok, or Hong Kong.
9. Europe to Bangkok with Thai Airways
There’s plenty of available seats on both Economy and Business Class from many cities in Europe, including Paris, London, Zurich, and Stockholm.
How to find Avianca LifeMiles Awards using AwardFares (Step-by-step)
1. Log in to AwardFares.
2. Select Frequent Flyer Program.
In the Frequent Flyer Program picker, select Avianca LifeMiles.
3. Choose the Route
In the From and To fields, enter your departure and arrival airports.
Optional: you can also perform broad searches from an entire area, region, or metropolitan area (like a city, Tokyo TYO)
4. Add travel dates (optional)
If you know your travel dates, try adding them to the search field. Once selected, AwardFares will start searching for available flights for that date, and will display them in a list below.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a set travel date, you can select the Timeline View to explore the availability for multiple days simultaneously. The bars show different classes in different colors.
5. Add more filters (optional)
Try filtering out by cabin class (e.g. Business Class, First Class) or number of stops (e.g. nonstop). In this example, we filter results to only show Economy Class seats.
And here’s another example of filtering results by airline, to only show flights on EVA Air.
There are many more filters you can explore adding, such as number of passengers, aircraft type, number of stops and even flight number!
