For travelers participating in the EuroBonus Millionaire campaign, SAS has shared an update today regarding ongoing technical issues with their retroactive flight registration. To address these challenges, SAS has extended the deadline for retroactively registering eligible flights to February 28.
What Does This Extension Mean for Participants?
This extension gives participants more time to make sure that all eligible flights with SkyTeam airlines are properly registered. However, it’s important to note that the February 28 deadline only applies to submitting the registrations – there might be even more delays when it comes to crediting the points, ugh!
Advice for Registering Flights
SAS has recommended the following for participants experiencing technical difficulties:
- If registration issues occur, wait and try again later, as the system may “become more stable over time”.
- EB members can monitor the status of their registered flights through the SAS app, which provides an overview of flights already logged.
How SAS Is Handling the Process
SAS is processing all registrations incrementally, meaning there may be delays before confirmations or points are reflected in participants’ accounts. The airline has clarified:
- Immediate confirmations may not be possible.
- Once SAS verifies that all 15 eligible flights are correctly registered to a participant’s account, a confirmation email will be sent, and points will be credited within a few weeks.
SAS is prioritizing members who earn 1,000,000 points, followed by those earning 100,000 and 10,000 points, making sure that all missing flights are accounted for before finalizing results.
A Call for Patience. SAS understands that the delays may be frustrating for participants who meticulously planned their travel to meet the campaign requirements, and acknoledges that is committed to ensuring the process is accurate and fair.
Our Recommendation
To make the most of the campaign, make sure you:
- Verify that all eligible flights are registered by the February 28 deadline.
- Submit any missing flight registrations as soon as possible.
- Use the SAS app or their EuroBonus account to stay informed about their registration status.
SAS has stated that participants will receive confirmation and points only after all eligible flights have been verified. This may take a few weeks post-registration.
