You can now earn valuable EuroBonus points when flying with SkyTeam’s extensive network of airlines, including popular carriers like Delta, KLM, and Air France. However, the number of points you’ll bank depends on several factors: the airline you fly, your travel class, your specific booking class (the letter on your ticket), and the distance of your flight.

A quick note: You can still earn EuroBonus points on some partners outside of SkyTeam, such as Etihad Airways and even its former partner, Singapore Airlines.

Check Your Booking Class: The fare code (e.g., J, Y, K) on your ticket is the most critical factor. Deeply discounted economy tickets may earn very few or even zero points.
Distance Matters: Most earnings are based on a percentage of the miles flown. Longer flights in higher cabin classes will earn you significantly more points.
Status Gives You More: EuroBonus Silver, Gold, and Diamond members earn a 25%, 50%, or 75% boost on spendable Bonus Points, respectively.

How Many EuroBonus Points Will I Earn On SkyTeam Flights?

You earn two types of points on qualifying SkyTeam flights: Bonus Points and Level Points. Level Points (previously called Basic Points) count towards raising your EuroBonus status, while Bonus Points can be spent on awards.

The points are generally calculated per flight segment based on the distance flown in miles, multiplied by a percentage that depends on your booking class.

Level Points = Flight Distance × Earning %
Bonus Points = Level Points × (1 + Your Status Bonus %)

Your status bonus is 0% for Basic, 25% for Silver, 50% for Gold, and 75% for Diamond members.

Check Before You Book!

The booking class (or fare class) is the single most important factor. You can usually find it during the booking process or on your e-ticket confirmation. A cheap-looking ticket might be in a fare class that earns 0% points, so it pays to double-check if earning points is a priority for you.
