Big changes are coming to ANA Mileage Club, the popular frequent flyer program of All Nippon Airways (ANA). Spanning from June 2025 through May 2026, these updates touch nearly every aspect of the program—international awards, domestic flights, upgrades, and elite perks. Some bring long-requested flexibility, while others mark the end of fan-favorite redemptions.
Here’s a full breakdown of what’s changing, and what it means for your miles.
One-Way Awards FINALLY Coming June 2025
Perhaps the biggest (and most welcome) update: ANA will introduce one-way award bookings starting June 24, 2025.
Until now, ANA required round-trip bookings, limiting flexibility and making it harder to mix airlines or routes. From June, members can:
- Redeem ANA miles for one-way flights on both ANA and partner airlines
- Expect mileage rates at half the cost of round-trip flights
- Combine one-way legs to maximize stopovers or mixed-carrier journeys
For example:
- North America ↔ Japan in economy: 20,000–36,000 miles (one-way)
- In business class: 50,000–82,500 miles (one-way)
And yes, ANA’s award charts remain intact, a rarity in an industry trending toward dynamic pricing. However, availability remains limited, and partner award fees can be steep, especially on premium cabins
ANA Ends Round-The-World Awards
One of ANA Mileage Club’s crown jewels—the Star Alliance Round the World (RTW) ticket—is disappearing.
- Last day to book: June 23, 2025
- After that, no new RTW awards will be issued
- Existing RTW tickets remain valid until expiration
This is a major loss for savvy travelers who used ANA’s generous RTW chart to book global itineraries with multiple stopovers and incredible value.
If you’ve dreamed of flying around the world on points, now’s the time to book.
Award Chart Devaluation for Select Routes
While one-way awards offer more flexibility, they come at a cost. ANA is raising award rates for many popular international routes starting June 24, 2025.
Affected Zones and Classes:
- Economy and Premium Economy during high season
- Business and First Class for flights to/from:
- South Korea, Asia, and Oceania (all seasons)
- Hawaii, North America, and Europe (high season)
For instance:
- North America ↔ Japan in business class (RT) will jump to 165,000 miles—up 83% in just 18 months.
Despite the hike, ANA’s fixed pricing still offers solid value compared to programs like Delta SkyMiles or United MileagePlus.

Domestic Flight Awards Overhauled (May 2026)
ANA is revamping its Japan domestic award system beginning May 19, 2026, with a new passenger service system.
Key changes include:
- Shorter Validity Windows: Tickets must be used within 1 year of issue, and within 1 year of first segment.
- Earlier Booking Times: Bookings open at 9:00 a.m. JST (instead of 9:30 a.m.), 355 days before departure.
- Connecting Itineraries Introduced: ANA will support connecting flight awards for domestic trips—details pending.
- Age Policy Changes: “Infants” now defined as 0–1 years old (was 0–2), “Children” adjusted to 2–11 years old, Infants require a ticket if occupying a seat.
- Refunds & Changes via Website: Easier processing for award tickets booked with family miles or Card Family Miles.

New Domestic and International Upgrade Options
Beginning May 19, 2026:
- Use miles to upgrade ANA Japan domestic flights from Economy to Premium Class
- Use international award tickets to upgrade intra-Japan segments to Premium
- The “Premium Class” designation will change to First Class (Premium Class) on booking pages (with no service changes)
Premium Member Perks Updated
Elite members will see changes starting May 2026:
- Priority reservations for Domestic Flight Awards and Upgrades will expand to:
- Diamond, Platinum, Bronze, and Super Flyers Card holders
- Applies to primary and accompanying passengers
- Waitlisting policy tightened:
- Only 1 flight per one-way sector
- No waitlisting for round-trips or connecting itineraries
- Waitlists now held for a maximum of two weeks prior to departure
